Chiang Mai has an unusual problem for a city its size: there is genuinely too much to see, and most of it is free or nearly so. Over 300 temples, several major markets, walking streets on two nights a week, and a mountain twenty minutes away.
The risk is doing all of it badly. This section is organised around doing less, better.
